I am not kidding myself. If the readers are not there,
there is no reason to advertise.
 
Pressure will always be there, but a good publisher should
insulate his editors from it as much as he can.
 
BTW, I write for a controlled-circulation trade publication
whose entire revenue comes from advertisers.
 
The Diapason does charge for subscriptions.
