Does anyone know of any commercially available recordings of rolls made by
the "greats" of the past on the player organs produced by Skinner, Aeolian,
Austin, etc.? Specifically, any recordings made on the Skinner that was at
the company's studio in New York? Does anyone know whatever happened to
that organ?

I think it would be interesting to initiate a "regular feature" sort of
thing on piporg-l--a "Where Are They Now" story. (Remember Tom Lehrer's
version of this applied to Hubert Humphrey? "Whatever became of Hubert?
Has anyone heard a thing?") Seems like the there are scads of organ
versions of this--once famous organs that ended up in some unusual place.

(And speaking of this . . . has anyone heard whether anyone bought the Duke
Aeolian echo division?)

A "Where Are They Now" series could rank right up there with "Great Organs
of Des Moines."
