I fully apologise for not abridging in my previous response.
The historicity (or lack thereof) of "Equal-beating Victorian Temperaments",
a term created by Owen Jorgensen, was scrutinised in
Sturm, Fred. "A Clear and Practical Introduction to Temperament History -
Part 8-Jorgensen's Tuning" in Piano Technicians Journal. Piano Technicians
Guild, Kansas City (USA),
Jan. 2011, pp. 20-22.
AFAIK, no scholar has ever contested the conclusions of Fred Sturm in this
paper.
