I must agree with David.. the timing was trememdous even with the closing
and those poor fellows carrying the 500 pound coffin. I must say that we
with the English heritage (and here I count not only Anglicans but many
protestants and perhaps English speaking catholic churches) have access to
a wonderful musical heritage through our hymns which allowed everyone to
participate. This type of service is able to be done when one has the
right elements. Here they combined Sebastian Temple's song with more
traditional hymns and it worked.
One strange thing: I picked the last hymn from Diana's funeral as the last
hymn for church tomorrow - BEFORE - we had any work about her service!
