Does anyone know if there is an English (or French) translation of Adriano
Banchieri's instructions...
I have an Offprint from 'Early Keyboard Journal' published by The
Southeastern Historical Keyboard Society and The Midwestern Historical
Keyboard Society (USA?) entitled Early Italian Keyboard Fingering by Calvert
Johnson, Volume 10 - 1992
This includes comprehensive examples of fingering recommendations by
Banchieri and others. Sources are listed but there are no extensive
quotations or translations. The following source for Banchieri is quoted -
Translation in Donald Earl Marcase, Andriano Banchieri, L'Organo Suonarino:
Translation, Transcription and Commentary (PhD dissertation, Indiana
University, 1970).
