I think most of us were aware that the collection closed last year and
that things would be auctioned. It is not clear to me what the state of
each instrument is. I know the collection had many playing instruments,
but with such a quantity, I imagine (though I do not know) that the vast
majority of them are unrestored? In any case, my wife and I were looking
at the auction catalog and thinking that, even if we were to bid and buy
something, many if not most of what we were interested in couldn't be
brought into the United States because of the ongoing ivory brouhaha...
