While there certainly are Burtons out there that are problematic, I have yet to find one that did not work up to be something workable for individuals who can't spend $5000-25,000 on an instrument. Granted, the more you spend, usually the better (and fancier) the instrument, but in the $3000 and under range, you need to make compromises and settle for it being better than NO harpsichord. Of course, you do want it to be better than no harpsichord! If it is a continued heartache, that isn't a good buy.
There is a market for the basic Kia sedan, and there is a market for Subarus, and there is a market for Maseratis. Just because a Subaru is a better vehicle doesn't mean the Kia can't get you where you are going and supplies an important need. It is my opinion that having a harpsichord is an important need.
