Excuse me, Michael. Please quote me right.
I was NOT fussy.
I did NOT state that this player misused inégales or that did not use them
where the composer said it should be used.
What I wrote is that, in a webpage where the player shows supposed
international-class prowess in French Baroque music, playing 6 pieces by
F. Couperin and Rameau (where there are MANY inégales but by no means all
runs of quavers and semiquavers should be inégales and by no means should
them be played mechanically), there was NOT A SINGLE NOTE INEGALE.
As for your "transcendent", your aesthetic seems to be far departed from
Baroque as possible. Feel free to play that way but, again, you will find it
more satisfying doing it using the modern piano!
