"Writing About Music is Like Dancing About Architecture"

It's notoriously difficult to describe in words anything meaningful 
about a performance. There's only so much to say about dry technical 
matters that do lend themselves to that kind of reduction!

It's also very difficult to be critical of a performance without 
insulting the performer - it can be done, but it's difficult. Nobody 
wants to annoy (or worse) potential colleagues, clients, or mentors in a 
public forum like this!

That said, I welcome any comments about recordings and performances 
here. I've learned about many great harpsichordists from this list, and 
I hope it will continue!
