The subject of happiness bars rears its ugly head yet again. They do work and do so extremely well I get the springs (compression) from a box at the local hardware store. A diam. between 12-16mm will do . you push them onto a dowel with a nail to hold it in place allowing you to screw the spring up and down to adjust the pressure on the soundboard. They are useful on harpsichords such as the 1728 Zell when the soundboard buckles because of it being essentially an adaption ofItalian design principles which don't work so well on larger deeper instruments.
