Dear members,

I've found the "Air and structural modes of a harpsichord" article. Actually one can read it free online here: http://www2.me.rochester.edu/courses/ME443/Handouts/Harpsicord.pdf

As I'm not mathematically endowed much, this article generally gave me a headache.

Probably none of us has the funds but it would be very interesting in spite of all theories and calculations to actually record the same instrument with and without a soundhole. All this using the same setup like I have currently at my workshop, namely an instrument which is a completely sealed box. Maybe I make a soundhole in the bottom of the instrument so that nobody will see it if I screw up things 😊

Anyway, the weekend is here so forget the theoretical matters and start enjoying playing your instruments!

Greetings,

Chris.
