Well yes I did.
If people put gobs of oil on a seaprate quill and don't remove the excess,
then yes it might gum up (duh!)
However soaking quills in olive oil does not make the quill sticky, greasy
or gummy -this is just more Internet copy/paste rhetoric.

3 weeks is more than enough to soak in olive oil, althog longer does not
hurt.
Afterwards, take the quills out, wipe them dry with paper kitchen towel and
let them dry a day. You will not have not one bit of stickiness or
problems, in fact you will see no difference with the regular unoiled quill
in appearance.
