The idea that brass (rather than iron?) bridge-pins could transform the
sound of an instrument is new to me. I am worried that soft brass pins
will develop a 'hook' where the wires cross, and even that electrolytic
action between iron wire and brass pin might occur in damp environments,
leading to breakages and difficult tuning.

Can anyone identify the specific effects of changing the bridge pins to
brass from iron?

Incidentally I completely agree with the comment about the excellent
tonal effects of Stephen's so-called 'P-wire'.

Sorry to write about maker's issues!
