This will seem a very basic question to most of you. But my 40-year-old
harpsichord has just been restored and tuned to A=415. Since i don't have
time to tune by ear every week or so, i need an electronic helper, and was
directed to ClearTune as a tuner that could be set to that frequency.
However, i can't find any instructions on how to use it. There are endless
reviews online that suggest that i can 'calibrate' my A4 to 415 rather than
concert pitch, but nothing to suggest how to do this and whether, once i've
calibrated that note, i will then have to calibrate all the rest of the
notes in the octave manually or whether the tuner will do that
automatically once the required pitch for the A is defined. For the moment
i'm just sticking to equal temperament, though possibly others of the range
of temperaments the machine offers would work just as easily. But if anyone
can offer me advice on how to start off, that would be wonderful. Thanks in
advance.
