In that essay, he is looking at the c2-equivalent lengths at the brass/iron transition of the four-stamped-8-gauge instruments and comparing it with the c2-equivalent lengths of the three-stamped-8-gauge instruments. However, there are discrepancies. I have never found any documentation of instruments with gauge 8 stamped four times, so I have no string lengths of such instruments to go by. Anyone?
