I don't have the microfilms of Tregian (FWVBook) here but I recall that
whaen I checked a few entries in the Dover edition against the original
rather too many questionable things turned up. As has been mentioned before,
the print plates that (slightly corrected) are the basis for Dover are more
than a hundred years old.
Since I find this topic interesting as well, I will make time to check your
list against the editor's critical comments of the Musica Britannica
edition, which, as Davitt has recently pointed out, is an excellent starting
point if you haven't got access to the original texts [Yes! An opportunity
to write TextS, plural, and it is correct! I'm feeling so postmodern.]. If I
find anything worthwhile to report, I'll be back in a few days.
