In the 70's Geza Anda recorded the complete Mozart piano concerti and sold some ~5,000 copies over two years. Then a marketing genius slapped a bright yellow sticker on the K. 466 & K. 467 LP reading "Theme from Elvira Madigan". It sold >~330,000 copies in two months.
FTR, I despise advertising. One of the reasons no one expects a single honest word from a politician is because we live in a bottomless ocean of lies and manipulation.
