Just a note--the Westfield Center for historical keyboard studies does in fact focus on other keyboard instruments, too. Initially this was primarily the organ, but there have certainly also been clavichord- and fortepiano-centered events (there was a huge fortepiano conference in Ithaca last August, for example, and an Empfindsamkeit-and-clavichord conference in October 2014). More can be read on Westfield's website at https://westfield.org. Instructions for how to become a member (which I would encourage, obviously) are here: https://westfield.org/join/ . 
Members receive the peer-reviewed journal _Keyboard Perspectives_. The most recent volume (edited by yours truly) focuses on combination keyboard instruments (such as the claviorgan) and other non-mainstream instruments (for example the glass harmonica).
