(any advice for making custom hand planes?)
Thanks all for the invaluable advices.
I see most (or all?) of the professionals here use a heavy duty spindler router on a table, with custom cutters. However, the total expense for a table, a heavy duty spindler router, plus a two or three custom cutters seems too high for the expected output of an amateur maker. I don't expect to make more than two or three harpsichords more.
So I will reject "model" routers, as per Michael advice, and try to make a custom plane by myself (and of course any advice would be welcome).
Should I not succeed, I will follow the table-router-with-custom-cutters route.
Best regards,
Domenico
