whenever a piece of music has the notes
of the left hand spread beyond reach, in regardless of how you tune it,
s. rampe mentiined in his additiin of muffat that it was a well known 
practice to transpose whatever notes up an octive in order to solve the 
problem.  My question is, what historical treatise or musical publication 
contains the instruction of this practice.?
