Agree with David and Claudio, but would add the listener to the 'system'.
I have just started using my first hearing aid for age-related high-tone
deafness; it acts as an equaliser, but not a very good one. As my
deafness has progressed over decades, I have regretted the current
fashion for not providing graphic equalisers in pre-amps.
