As I am an avid user of crow quills myself, having fitted them in my own harpsichord 10 years ago, and in several instruments for clients, I'd like to add that the suppleness and longevity of a good voicing in crow, or quills in general, can be extended through careful application of Ballistol on the underside, with a wee pinsel.
