The letter was, of course meant for Owen. I had absolutely no business
airing my former complaint about someone not on the List who can't go for my
jugular, or give his side of things.

Frank is a superb musician and owner of a great collection of instruments. He
was the very first person ever to play a recital on one of my instruments in
December 1967 in Indianapolis. I have not been in touch with him for ages,
so he might well have come to appreciate the work that goes into making a
harpsichord by now! He is a great organizer and an all around dynamic
personality, his work with the Indianapolis Festival being one example of his
untiring work.

I could of course use the excuse of my unhappiness with my knee to explain my
breach in good manners, but of course, I had no business writing such a
letter!

With apologies,
