Hello, all. Part of the issue with lack of trimming, may be that email
systems such as gmail "hide" the quoted text, behind an ellipsis (...).
Also, if people are not highly computer-oriented, they may not know a quick
and efficient way to delete lots of text. I've watched many folks just
hold down that backspace key...
What I do, FWIW, *before* typing new text (if I can remember to), is click
on the "..." to make the old text visible, then hit ctrl-A to "select all",
then hit the <del> key. Old text gone. Then I type my new text. (This is
so that the subject line is preserved, when I want to follow up to an
existing conversation thread.)
