Well there is quite a lot of reaction in the UK where I am over on a visit. I have been able to visit Finchcocks twice recently and see the harpsichords, virginals and clavichord close to. The owners are now quite elderly and Richard Burnett is in poor health so they have decided that it is really too much for them to keep it going. The building itself would need a lot of money spent on it to remain open to the public so the National Trust is not interested. The Finchcocks Foundation will continue its good work in encouraging young musicians with access to period instruments (funds from the auction will go to the Foundation).
