or they are just flag poling annoyingly, requiring an extra careful technique. 

but yes, different wires will render differently around the bridge and nut pins.

I may be wrong, but different wires respond different to a twitch of the tuning pin. But maybe we are barking up the wrong tree and the tuning pins are not comfortably snug in their holes...
