Hi Claudio,
Equalizers only address frequency response of a system and room
characteristics, not other speaker parameters - that's why they don't rate
much mention. Adding more components in the signal line always degrades the
signal. This is why most preamplifiers don't have bass and treble controls
any more.
It's interesting that others have mentioned ribbons or planar speakers.
These have a fantastic transparency for harpsichord because of their very
fast dynamic response. And also, as another writer said, contemporary
active monitor speakers are fabulous too. Quite a few people like the airy
sound produced by dipole radiators (usually ribbon are open at the back
being just a thin panel, and produce sound to the front and back pretty
much equally) and although this gives audio engineers the heebie jeebies it
seems to produce a sense of live music performance quite well.
