Dear Davitt,

What a lovely message. Heartfelt thanks. It means a lot to me that somebody of your distinction and calibre wrote such a kind and encouraging message - especially on a public forum!

As is well known, the best instruments just teach one how to play. This was certainly the case with the Zenti harpsichord, where the instrument's strikingly resonant qualities helped me in pacing the toccata that I played in the video.

According to the recent book by Alec Cobbe and Christopher Nobbs ('Three Hundred Years of Composers' Instruments'), Malcolm Rose did some 'further conservation work' on the Zenti in 2008 (following the restringing by Darryl Martin in 1993).

How I would LOVE to record all of Frescobaldi! I'll let you know if anything comes of this...

Thanks again.

Very best,

Julian
