I would definite try ZHI in Stonington. I know their rose. It was designed
for ZHI Flemish Single and Double harpsichords after a Ruckers original.
It's made of lead and needs to be guilded.
Greetings
Rainer

Dear all,

thanks for all those informations.
Here is my update:
Hendrik Broekman, Technical Director of Hubbard Harpsichords informed me,
that the Ruckers rose formerly being sold has been discontinued.

ZHI and Paris workshop I haven't checked out, especially because I could
not find any photo or even specifications for those roses.
Dietrich here in Germany offered to send me an "IR"-rose to be copied and
cast by me myself.

Meanwhile I opened the O'Brien's book and found out, that roses suitable
for my actual two Ruckers copies should be either 65 mm (AR) or 67 mm (IR),
as the instruments will be singles.

Unfortunately Dietrich's rose is more than 70 mm, designed for Ioannes
Ruckers doubles.

So I will stay hunting for a Zuckermann Rose, as this should be around 65
mm.

So long

Michael Bender

Note that the Hubbard and Paris Workshop designs are different, though both
Ruckers styles. You can see them on the websites.

They are essentially the same size, so that shouldn't be an issue.

Should anybody want a TPW rose, you can email me privately. Overseas mail
is very fast these days.

Hubbard sells a 65mm Ruckers style rose.

Paris Workshop sells a Ruckers style rose, but no information mentioning
diameter. (Scroll down on Accessories page.)

I wonder if makers who make their own Ruckers instruments could be asked if
they would sell roses they have for their instruments?
