The version recorded on the Ammer was released in 1953. As Dongsok says,
it's what was available at the time. I have a distinct recollection that
the recorded sound on that version seems to have been passed through
some kind of reverberation gizmo that sounds like old bed springs - I'd
be curious to hear it again.
