Douglas what they are saying is they are effected by temperature etc.I 
rarely use a steel straightedge for such things and prefer my own shot 
wooden straightedges.I always work from the same direction, the left is 
always kept left and providing you stay with the same piece two wrongs 
can make a right if you follow what I am saying.Quite honestly I cannot 
for the life of me see what all the fuss is about, but then that’s 
probably why my work is not that good.Science and art I’m afraid rarely, 
if ever mix.
