Hi all,

I am about ready to put a coat of thinned shellac on my clavichord
soundboard. Most things that I have read have described soundboard
shellacking as just a “sealer coat”.

Is there a downside to putting too much of a shellac layer on a clavichord
soundboard?

How bad would it be if I put french-polish level of finish on it?

Thanks,

Phil
