The harpsichord photo site is nice, but each resource functions differently and serves different purposes.
The Listserv provides a platform for scholarly discussion and contains a wealth of information within its archives. It also encompasses all aspects of early keyboard studies, including performance practice, literature, musicology, organology, recording, building and restoration issues, etc. and counts among its contributors some of the most brilliant minds in the field.
The photo site features decent photos of instruments submitted by their owners, but only a limited number of photos can be submitted and there is no provision for ongoing dialog.
The Facebook page provides the ability to share many photos, including photos of detail, and allows for informal chat. Obvious drawbacks include the necessity for "belonging" to Fb (which many choose not to do), the relatively poor "signal to noise" ratio, and its relatively ephemeral nature.
One is free to participate (or not) in any or all of these media (of course each has its own rules for participation), so I don't see any problem with their continuing coexistence.
