I don't know how many listers have found their way to Dominic Eckersley's web-page - 
specifically to two projects described there

(1) to compare the sound of different wires 
(http://dominiceckersley.me/the-wire-project/) and

(2) even more interestingly, to compare the effect of fitting narrower-gauge bridge 
and nut pins (http://dominiceckersley.me/the-pin-project/)

It is possible to compare these different set-ups and the difference in sound is very 
striking. I *think* I can identify my own subjective preference, but I'd be really 
interested to know what others think.
