I doubt the missing bridge pins have anything to do with it: Goodness knows what those notes sound like. Judging from your pic, though, a straight crack of that entire length running under the bridge is most likely to be a join between two flitches in the board. They have separated.
It’s good policy to fit a shim into a V-shape crack, and perhaps the glue does matter. (I’m tired of dissolving dried epoxy that was smeared over soundboards in ancient misguided repair attempts.) Be wary that if the shim is much deeper than the thickness of the soundboard, the lower parts may need adjusting to clear ribbing. Always do a dry run.
