Dear Calhoun,
        The business about Landowska "quilling" her instrument did not
come from me but was a direct quote from Denise Restout.  I rather
suspect that she thought quilling was a description of trimming or
preparing the plectra regardless of  their composition.  I probably
should have explained this in my comments, but I noticed my little
contribution to the Pleyel question was starting to look like an article.
        Thanks for asking the question.  It needed clarification.
