Concerning the (un)availability of instrument drawings,
there is a quote by William Dowd in his Blanchet article
published in "The Historical Harpsichord" about the data he presents:
"One purpose of measuring an instrument is to be able to reproduce it,
and if enough of the significant dimensions are taken,
one can generate from them a plan or drawing which is surprisingly accurate."
Opinions please: what is the possibility of listing enough data from an instrument
so that anyone could draw their own plan?
