This is a pretty stupid thread. Many people on this list have very
strong, passionately held opinions about what is or is not a good way
to play the harpsichord, and most of them are based on a perfectly
sufficient amount of experience and knowledge. Some of them can even
play Scarlatti better than the subject of this thread. If I or anyone
else wants to say we think anyone, no matter how much of a Big Name or
a Worthy Personage, plays badly, we should be able to say so quite
freely without anyone telling us, in not so many words, to shut up.

If we can't talk unreservedly (not 'dispassionately' - as if
pretending not to care would really make a difference?) about what we
think is good or bad playing, what on earth is the point of the list.
