Tilman,
I was asking for the name not for the name's sake, but in order to be able to listen and get my own idea of the performances.

In fact, we were discussing about a performance - and in general about mechanical vs personal, or HIP vs a-historical - without actually having heard one note of that performance.

Telling the name would have actually added, not subtracted, to politeness. Think for example if the original post by Claudio said something like "I just heard the execution of mr ... and I have to remark I don't hear any inegalité which in my opinion should be due in any execution of French music".
I guess you'd be happier with the original post, this way.

That's why I asked the name, to focus on the execution aspects more than the personal ones.
However, I also must admit the original post was in fact less polite than I stated in my reply.

So, be the name of the player undisclosed. A good player, indeed, though not one of my preferred. But I am admittedly not a big expert in French music which I love less than Italian, German, English, Spanish.

Best regards
Domenico
