Hello,
I am wondering if anybody can identify the primary wood used to veneer this nameboard (see attached), which belongs to a 1794 Longman & Broderip square. The grain/ray pattern looks different to me than that of English Sycamore or Indian satinwood; correct me if I am wrong. Any input would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
MR
