I remember that the musicologist Peter Wollny had found evidence in  
CPEs scores (I think it was in the findings from Kiev), that he may  
have thought of a combined harpsichord/fortepiano like the Ferrini or  
Hellen, -however I cannot tell You anymore what he came across (at  
least ten years ago, he asked, whether such instruments existed).
