From a rank amateur here, who built the Zuckermann Flemish IX kit back in 1980….
It’s not a great instrument, but does a wonderful job on Froberger. the voicing is pretty good, since I had a professional completely re-quill it.
The registers came pre-cut, from beech I think. They are precise and flawless.
But the jacks? Flimsy plastic things that bend with the wind. It’s obvious why wood is so much better.
And while I’m here, I do remember trimming the soundboard in the bass thinner than the David Way Zuckermann instructions advised, on someone else’s advice. Turn out great - the bass far exceeds a fine professional instrument nearby. After reading the other thread here, I do wonder if this shaving would have been less stressful if I had tried holding it up to the sun.

A nicer option would be using CNC cutting at least for registers and possibly jacks, I have seen CNC cut violin bridges without the nasty burnt edges from the laser. Of course laser or water jet cutting is appropriate for cutting metal parts such as fancy hinges.
