From Forkel, who published the first biography of Bach in something
like 1802. He got a lot of info from Bach's friends and relations
(especially CPE), but that was obviously decades before the thing was
published, so he was relying on notes which, if I remember correctly,
don't survive. He didn't give references, so we don't know the source
for any particular piece of information.
