From having seen many of his instruments, outside only so far, I can not say. But I know in anything Flamish he tends to use 0,23 to the top with some extended scaling. One of his 1624 Colmar ravalé instruments loosened up very nicely with a more French stringing in p-wire, gauge-numeric based on the Thoiry 1733 Blanchet going to gauge 10 in the top in Birkett Nuremberg Iron and the lovely Vogel Kupferhof, Märkisch Rot and Stolberg brass. ( CuZn 05/15 30)  the previous plan was all Rose wire.
