Hello everyone,
I have 2 Zuckermann clavichords, a Hubert copy & a KOS (King of
Sweden). I'm looking for an electronic tuner (either manual or
iPad/iPhone app type) that will work well with these. It needs to have
historical temperaments (e.g., Kirnberger/Werkmeister/meantone) and
variable pitch setting (down to at least 415 Hz). I have 2 Korgs, an
MT1200 & an OT-120, neither of which pick up the clavichord sound very
well, although the former seems to get the c2 but not other notes.
I have used Cleartune on the iPad also and this picks up the sound very
well, but the needle jumps around wildly, which makes it almost
impossible to use. PitchLab is OK, but doesn't seem to work with
keyboards (only guitars, banjos etc.). And Pitch Pro doesn't have a
meter mode (only tones, which I find hard to use on clavichords). There
is another one (AP Tuner) on the Apple store but the designer won't
reply to email about it.
So hopefully someone will have an idea of what I might do here? I don't
want to give up the instruments just because they are a pain to tune!
Forks are out of the question; they are just too much trouble.
Thanks,
Peter Yingling
