I don't have specific experience with Little Falls, but with b-c from a number of other sources (obscure ones by now, I fear); also with various hardnesses. The harder stuff sounds harsher; the softer b-c (from a [dwindling] quantity of left-over stock in the not-yet-dismantled Skowroneck workshop in Bremen) sounds good, better than some kinds of available brass, and it is absolutely reliable loop-wise: no slipping and it doesn't get brittle over time.
My "oldest" instrument here is a rather-much-played clavichord from the mid-seventies, with its original strings still fully intact.
