Welcome to the HPSCHD-L list, Umut.

I don't know of any plans specifically drawn for plywood and laser
cutting, although the original Zuckerman kit harpsichord from the 1960's
made use of lots of plywood, including the 1/8 inch thick basswood
plywood soundboard. There are thousands out there and they sound
surprisingly good.

If you can use only plywood, you will have some trouble making the
keyboard and jacks, so you should use real wood for that, or purchase
those parts.

Most of us on this list would encourage you to reconsider using real
wood and traditional methods, but harpsichord building has always had a
sub-set of experimenters and tinkerers to keep it interesting. You have
chosen a challenging project, but if you persevere you will end up with
an instrument that will work. That is, the notes will sound when you
press a key. Don't expect to get a Stradivarius violin from a cigar
box, though.

Enjoy the process. And if you find it rewarding, try traditional
materials and methods for your next instrument.

Best wishes,
Norm Purdy
