Dear Friends,

I am please to announce the release of the 3rd edition of the
ebook "Playing the Baroque Harpsichord", subtitled
"Essays on the Instrument, Interpretation & Performance,
with relevant topics for the Clavichord and Organ".

Ever since the publication in March 2010 of the 1st edition, soon after favourably reviewed, work has been ongoing in improvements. These are the main ones in this 3rd edition:
- The Introduction has now a small sub-section on the modern rediscovery of the Harpsichord Repertoire.
- The history of Keyboard Ranges has been updated with new details from recent discussions.
- The section about Tempi in French Baroque dances has now a sub-section on the performance of Doubles and Trios.
- The treatment of the use of the Buff Stop has been updated.
- The treatment of repeats in Rondeaux has been updated.
- There is a new Appendix on how to perform "out of range fixes".
- There is a new Appendix with a discussion about authentic/historical performance.

As always, throughout the book, the recommendations are as much as possible based on historical evidence, current musicological research and present day performance practice on Baroque keyboard instruments.

Please find full information in the book's webpage:

PS: RECENT BUYERS OF THE BOOK PLEASE NOTE:
Lulu.com does not allow to differentiate prices for previous buyers.
Yet I find it unfair that a recent buyer is left with an out-of-date edition.
Therefore, according to Bray Baroque's usual policy, I will send a free copy to everybody who bought the previous edition on or after 1st August 1017: just email me specifying buyer's name, date of purchase and Lulu's order number.
