Many thanks to Davitt Moroney for reminding us of Francois Couperin's glorious music. For those who don't already know there is an excellent book first published in 1950 by Wilfrid Mellers "Francois Couperin and the French Classical Tradition". It's still available on Amazon.
By the way, Wilfrid Mellers was professor of music at the University of York where I studied (1966-1971) from 1964 to 1981.
