Friends:
I have been having the pleasure of doing some minor work on a 1992 Hubbard and Broekman harpsichord.
The disposition is new to me so I am asking for feedback from folk more knowledgeable.
The 2 manuals do NOT slide for coupling.
Front 8' has dogleg jacks, plays from both manuals and is always on.
4' is on a slider and plays from the lower manual.
Back 8' is on a slider and when on, plays from the lower manual.
Is this an historical style that I simply have never run into before? (Which I bet is the case).
Any comments on pros and cons from a players point of view? The lower manual playing front 8' + 4' seems odd intellectually, but is not offensive when I play the instrument.
Thanks in advance for comments!
